Cunningham to Vote in favor of President being removed from Office

Defending his upcoming vote in favor of having the President of the United States removed from office, U.S. Rep. Joe Cunningham, D-S.C., told Charleston’s newspaper, the Post & Courier, “The President used the power of his office to coerce a foreign government into investigating his political rival for personal gain. By refusing to cooperate with Congress and lawfully-issued subpoenas, the President clearly obstructed Congress. For these reasons, I support the Articles of Impeachment.”

In a December 17, 2019 editorial in the Post & Courier, Cunningham further explains why he believes President Trump should be removed from office eleven months prior to the next presidential election.  Cunningham writes, “The facts are clear: The president blatantly and repeatedly abused the power of his office by coercing a foreign government into investigating his political rival, withholding appropriated military assistance to do it. By refusing to cooperate with Congress, the president also clearly obstructed Congress.  After an enormous amount of deliberation, countless conversations with constituents and thoughtful prayer, I have decided to support both articles of impeachment against President Trump.”

Cunningham has decided to adhere to the Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler impeachment talking points regardless of the fact that they are based in hearsay and strange imaginings. He has allowed himself to be deceived by one of the greatest congressional abuses of power since the passing of the Tenure of Office Act in 1867 and the impeachment of President Andrew Johnson.  President Johnson believed the Tenure of Office Act was not constitutional.  Because he violated the Act, Congress sought to impeach Johnson.  In a 1926 case, the Supreme Court ruled the Tenure of Office Act invalid.  Johnson was right. Congress was wrong.

Cunningham claims President Trump used the power of his office to coerce a foreign government.  In this context, coerce means to obtain (something) by using force or threats.  This never happened.  No evidence has been presented that proves that President Trump told any member of the Ukraine government that he was withholding military aid unless the Ukraine began investigating a political rival.  Trump did not coerce the Ukraine.

Cunningham claims President Trump wanted a foreign government to investigate a political rival.  This is not accurate.   It’s not hard for honest people to see the truth when they are seeking it.  Trump asked President Zelenskyy “to do us a favor”.  ‘Us’ in this context means Trump and other people.  ‘Favor’, is an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual.   So when Trump asks Zelenskyy to “do us a favor”, he is asking for an act of kindness.

Later in his July 25, 2019 phone conversation with Zelenskyy, Trump said, “The other thing, There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son…that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you ·can look into it … It sounds horrible to me.”  If Cunningham wants to be honest with his constituents, he has to admit that Hunter Biden is not a political rival of the President and the “Biden” that allegedly stopped an investigation was former Vice-President Biden and not presidential candidate Biden.  To act as if the former Vice-President is immune from any scrutiny simply because he is currently running for president is ludicrous.

Democrats are quick to say that any further investigation into the Biden / Ukraine abuse of power and / or other criminal activity allegations is not necessary because the Biden’s had already been investigated and no criminal wrongdoing was found.  They say all allegations have been debunked and anyone who brings up the Biden / Burisma story is trafficking in conspiracy theories.  Interestingly, the democrats never say who debunked these suspicions of wrongdoing by the former vice-president in Ukraine.  As every conservative knows, when leftists say ‘there is nothing to see here’, there is most-likely something to see here.

Cunningham will vote in favor of having the President of the United States removed from office because he claims that President Trump abused his power.  He claims “The facts are clear: The president blatantly and repeatedly abused the power of his office by coercing a foreign government into investigating his political rival, withholding appropriated military assistance to do it.”

How can Cunningham make this statement?  “The president blatantly and repeatedly”…?  Repeatedly is defined as over and over again; constantly.  It seems like Congressman Cunningham has some new evidence that has yet to be presented to the good people of the South Carolina coast.  When did Trump ‘repeatedly’ ‘coerce’ a foreign government?  The truth is the President of the United States did not ‘repeatedly coerce’ a foreign government, and if Joe Cunningham is not sharp enough and honest enough to recognize this fact, then he is not fit to be a congressman.

Cunningham thinks it is proper for President Trump to be thrown out of office because Trump is accused of “withholding appropriated military assistance”… the truth is this aid was released by the White House on September 12, 2019.

When it comes to the Biden’s – a lot of people want to find out about that.  Trump is right about that for sure.  Easily, 70 million Americans want to find out about that.  Cunningham should want to find out about that too.  But he does not, and neither do the overwhelming majority of democrats.  Why?  That should be obvious at this point.

The Democrats are desperate to not allow Trump’s question regarding potential abuse of power by the former Vice-President to gain any validity and credibility.  They know that if the Biden question is allowed to be valid, so is the President’s request of the Ukraine to investigate Burisma Holdings, Hunter Biden, and then Vice-President Biden.

There is no impeachable offense.  There is no collusion.  There is no quid pro quo.  There is no bribery.  There is no treason.  There is no abuse of power and there is certainly no obstruction of congress.  Yet Congressman Joe Cunningham from the 1st District of South Carolina plans to vote for the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump – he plans to vote in favor of the President of the United States being removed from office – to be thrown out of office by Cunningham’s now co-conspirators.

Cunningham will be on the wrong side of history with his vote.
