Indiana Annie and the Raiders of the 1st Congressional District of South Carolina have avoided answering questions about her childhood for 6 months. Simple questions about where Andrews was born and raised have received no response from the candidate, nor her campaign team. With only 51 days until the midterm elections, it’s reasonable to assume Dr. Annie Andrews doesn’t believe there’s an upside to informing South Carolina voters that she’s an Indiana girl trying to grab a South Carolina congressional seat.
Dr. Annie Andrews has been asked repeatedly, at least 25 times since March 2022, “Where were you born and raised?” This simple question has been transmitted to Andrews via Twitter and email. Having to “research” this sort of information about a candidate is insulting and absurd. It’s not an intrusive question. It doesn’t cross any lines of decency or politeness. It’s such a common question, especially when trying to know another person better. At some point in new friendships, people ask, “Hey, where were you born and raised?” Since the campaign strategists for Team Andrews have assumably advised Annie against discussing such classified intelligence with the voters she claims to want to represent in the United States House of Representatives, I will try to fill in the blanks.
The above Indiana Record of Marriage indicates that Anne E. Lintzenich was born in Kentucky. Lintzenich was born on August 9, 1980 in McCracken County, which is located in the far western part of Kentucky.
On December 27, 2003, Anne E. Lintzenich married Casey E. Malone. Their divorce was finalized on March 18, 2005. The marriage lasted 448 days, or 1 year, 2 months, 20 days. Malone and Lintzenich both attended the University of Dayton. It’s unknown if they met in college, or if they knew each other prior to attending the university. The cause for the marriage and quick divorce is not known. I do not know how long their separation was prior to the divorce. Malone listed his occupation as “Actuary” in the marriage record, and continues to work in the profession today as a product manager for Milliman ModelSign.

When I first began to look into the Andrews campaign, I noticed, on her campaign website, that she lacked any information about her life prior to attending the University of Dayton. Initially, I thought this was probably a rookie mistake, or a simple oversight. Search any political candidate website, particularly the campaign website of a newcomer to politics, and you’ll find at least a few sentences about his or her upbringing, and where he or she was born and raised. Many candidates highlight their roots to impress upon voters that they are one of them; that they know the struggles and pain, as well as the successes and joys of the people. However, as the weeks turned to months, still with no response from the Andrews campaign, I began to think that the missing biography wasn’t missing at all. It was purposely omitted.
A lie of omission with the hope that voters would just assume Andrews grew up in the Lowcountry. Of course, the Andrews campaign will deny such an allegation. If they offer any comment, it will most likely be that such information isn’t important or relevant to the campaign. My position is that’s for the voters to decide, and not Dr. Annie Andrews.
The circumstances surrounding Anne Lintzenich being born in Kentucky are not understood at this time. What’s certain is Annie’s an Indiana girl. Her mother and father, James Lintzenich and Mary E. Manion attended Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville, Indiana together. They were part of the Class of 1971. James and Mary have an extensive real estate record, but there is no record of owning property in Kentucky. It appears as though there was multiple properties owned at the same time, suggesting some real estate investment. 10707 Club Chase, Fishers, Indiana is a consistent address throughout the record. I believe this is where Annie grew up. Unless I’m missing something, Annie enjoyed the comfort of an upper-middleclass upbringing.
Annie’s father and mother got married in Vanderburgh County, Indiana on August 17, 1974. James was born in Indiana. Mary was born in Wyoming. James business records do not indicate employment in Kentucky.
Dr. Annie Andrews attended Cathedral High School, a private, catholic high school in Indianapolis, Indiana. Cathedral High School is approximately a 25-minute drive from what I believe was Annie’s home in Fishers, Indiana.
None of this information is scandalous. It’s hard to understand why the Andrews campaign would not simply answer the questions regarding her birthplace and upbringing. She was a member of the National Honor Society at Cathedral High School. She played volleyball on a championship caliber volleyball team that made it to the Indiana State Final Four during the 1996-97 season.
Why not share this information with the voters? It sure seems like a political decision, and if so, it was deceptive, and wrong.
Did the campaign think that Andrews having attended a private, catholic high school might not square up with her pro-choice position? She’s certainly passionate about “women’s reproductive rights”. Did they fear she’d be perceived as a white, privileged Yankee who went on to become a doctor, and now thinks she knows what’s best for the 1st Congressional District of South Carolina? Is it that she’s a northerner running for a southern congressional seat?
Allowing voters to assume something that is not true is deceptive. I suspect that for many voters, none of the biographical information provided in this report makes any difference. It will be of no concern to them, and will not be a factor in how they vote. But for other voters, it will matter. And for that reason, and that reason only, the Andrews campaign needs to be forthcoming about the childhood of Dr. Annie Andrews. Biographical information about her life before college should be added to her website. She should make it clear to voters that she’s an Indiana girl that wants to represent the 1st Congressional District of South Carolina in the United States House of Representatives, and then let the voters decide if that’s what they want.
