Orderly Conservative Immigration versus Liberal Illegal Entry

Orderly Conservative Immigration versus Liberal Illegal Entry

How many people have entered the United States illegally since Joe Biden took office? According to the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, since February 2021 there have been 7,556,566 encounters made by the Border Patrol nationwide. These encounters include along the Northern Land Border, Southwest Land Border, and Nationwide (i.e., air, land, and sea modes of transportation).  A Border Patrol “encounter” is an enforcement action.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, (DHS) engages in immigration enforcement actions to prevent unlawful entry into the United States and to apprehend and repatriate noncitizens who have violated or failed to comply with U.S. immigration laws. Primary responsibility for the enforcement of immigration law within DHS rests with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). CBP enforces immigration laws at and between the ports of entry, ICE is responsible for interior enforcement and for detention and removal operations, and USCIS adjudicates applications and petitions for immigration and naturalization benefits.[1] That all sounds great, but that is not what the Biden / Harris Administration has been doing with illegal immigrants it has encountered.

The 7,556,566 encounters represent seven million five hundred fifty-six thousand five hundred sixty-six people who entered the United States unlawfully. The number of encounters during the Biden Administration exceeds the population of thirty-seven states. What is unknown is how many people have entered the United States illegally by avoiding encountering U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. There is plenty of video footage showing caravans of migrants simply overwhelming Border Patrol agents and escaping into the United States.

According to the October 9, 2023 Interim Staff Report of the Committee on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement[2] (House of Representatives), more than 1.7 million known “gotaways” have evaded Border Patrol and escaped into the interior since January 20, 2021, the start of the Biden / Harris Administration, with untold numbers of unknown “gotaways” avoiding detection during that period.

Of the 7,556,566 encounters since February 2021, nearly half were released into the interior of the United States. In addition to the 1.7 million known gotaways, that’s 5,478,283 illegal immigrants who are known to be in the United States as a result of President Joe Biden’s careless and dangerous response to illegal immigration. It’s anyone’s guess how many unknown gotaways have entered the United States during the Biden Administration.

It is not unreasonable, based on the liberal approach Biden has adopted toward border security and enforcement of immigration laws, to assume millions of people are in the United States as unknown gotaways. These unknown gotaways have come from around the world. Many are from countries hostile to the United States. Their purpose for entering the United States is unknown. It should be expected that some of the unknown gotaways in cities across the country, are here to kill Americans and harm the United States. They might not have the means and support to commit an extreme act of terrorism in the immediate future, but give them time.

It is reasonable to assume at least 8 million people have entered the United States illegally since Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. The Biden Administration has failed to remove roughly 99.7 percent of those illegal aliens who are known to have entered the United States illegally. The only reasonable conclusion to be reached is the Biden Administration wants these people who have violated U.S. immigration laws to remain in the United States indefinitely / permanently.

The abuse of our asylum laws, particularly along the southern border, has been out of control for years. U.S. asylum laws are in place to protect political dissidents and others who are truly in danger for speaking out against their government or hostile regime. Never was “asylum” meant to be granted to people simply seeking an escape from poverty. A “credible fear” of persecution has always been required to gain asylum in the United States. There is a cumbersome process for the government to determine if a person seeking asylum is actually experiencing a “credible fear”. The system in place cannot handle the volume of asylum requests.

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), a growing number of asylum seekers are well-versed in our laws and, more importantly, what they need to say in order to get a foot beyond the first asylum hearing.[3] As a result, many individuals claim “credible fear” of persecution in the hopes of being released or allowed to remain in the U.S. This creates several significant problems:

  • Improper claims clog the system and deny legitimate asylum seekers a swift adjudication of their claims;
  • The U.S. government must devote valuable resources to the care, shelter and processing of large numbers of people who likely will not be ruled eligible for asylum or similar protections;
  • The longer the asylum loopholes exist, there will be human traffickers and false asylum seekers who will abuse the system and put their own lives at risk too.

While the Biden Administration insists that our borders are secure, the numbers don’t lie. In less than three years, over 8 million people have entered the United States illegally, and are here to stay. Supporters of Biden’s weak approach to border security insist he is only acting humanely despite the law. Democrats have been fighting like hell for years to prevent a border wall and rigid enforcement of our immigration laws. It has nothing to do with humanity or compassion though. This is about the liberal’s peculiar obsession with even greater “diversity”, along with their desire to quickly increase the liberal vote count. Say this to their faces and they’ll pretend to be offended, but don’t be fooled. There is nothing more dishonest and sinister than an American liberal progressive.

There are legal ways to enter the United States. Family-based immigration is the most common legal way to enter the country. According to the U.S. Department of State[4]:

A foreign citizen seeking to live permanently in the United States requires an immigrant visa (IV). To be eligible to apply for an IV, a foreign citizen must be sponsored by an immediate relative who is at least 21 years of age and is either a U.S. citizen or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (that is, a green-card holder).

There are two types of family-based immigrant visas:

Immediate Relative – these visas are based on a close family relationship with a U.S. citizen, such as a spouse, child or parent. The number of immigrants in these categories is not limited each fiscal year.

Family Preference – these visas are for specific, more distant, family relationships with a U.S. citizen and some specified relationships with a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR). The number of immigrants in these categories is limited each fiscal year.

Keep in mind that U.S. citizens can file an immigrant visa petition for their:

• Spouse
• Son or daughter
• Parent
• Brother or sister

U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents can only file an immigrant visa petition for their:

• Spouse
• Unmarried son or daughter

Temporary work visas are another way of entering the United States legally. From the U.S. Department of State[5]:

Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter the United States must first obtain a visa, either a nonimmigrant visa for temporary stay, or an immigrant visa for permanent residence. Temporary worker visas are for persons who want to enter the United States for employment lasting a fixed period of time, and are not considered permanent or indefinite. Each of these visas requires the prospective employer to first file a petition with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). An approved petition is required to apply for a work visa.

The United States also allows foreigners to enter the United States legally if they obtain a student visa. Investors seeking to invest more than $500,000 in a business which creates at least five full-time jobs are eligible for an immigrant investor visa. There is also a diversity lottery visa awarded to 50,000 randomly selected people who live in countries with low immigration rates to the United States. A liberal concept has always been diversity for the sake of diversity for no good reason, as if the United States is not already the most diverse nation in the history of civilization. And then there is the legal path for legitimate asylum seekers. In addition to all these legal ways to enter the United States, there are the paths towards naturalization and citizenship.

There is no argument that much of our immigration policy is cumbersome and needs refinement. The United States needs immigration. We need labor. We need younger men and women as the baby boomer generation rides off into the sunset. Republicans want to do it legally. By the book. We want to follow the laws until the laws are changed, and then we want to follow those laws. Liberals want to ignore the laws they don’t like and do whatever the hell they want to achieve their objective.

And the liberal Democrat’s objective is clear. Power. They want more power over people’s lives. They are the party of power and control, not law and order. Democrats want people who have not been properly assimilated into American culture and history; who lack connection to the U.S. Constitution and patriotism towards the United States, to VOTE.
