A video of Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) threatening a potential civil war if Donald Trump wins the 2024 presidential election has been viewed tens of millions of times this month. On August 5th Charlie Kirk posted the Raskin video on “X”. Kirk, Founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, has over 6.1 million views of the Raskin video, with thousands of reposts on top of reposts. It’s likely more than 30 million people have seen the video and are now aware of what the Democrats intend to do if “declaring Trump the winner” of the 2024 presidential election becomes unavoidable despite the administrative state’s best efforts to take Trump out or down. These treasonous anti-constitutionalists will stop at nothing to stop Trump, including having or allowing him to be assassinated.
Raskin was speaking at a discussion on voter rights when he made the liberally biased comments, which included a pledge to disqualify Trump on January 6, 2025, based on his bounteous application of the Fourteenth Amendment. It’s not the first time Raskin has said Section 3 of the 14th Amendment prohibits Donald J. Trump from holding any public office again.
Here is what Raskin said that has millions of Trump supporters outraged.
“What can be put into the Constitution can slip away from you very quickly. The greatest example going on right now before our very eyes is Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which they’re just disappearing with a magic wand as if it doesn’t exist, even though it could not be clearer what it’s stating. And so, they want to kick it to Congress. So, it’s going to be up to us on January 6th, 2025, to tell the rampaging Trump mobs that he’s disqualified. And then we need bodyguards for everybody in civil war conditions, all because the nine justices, not all of them, but these justices who have not many cases to look at every year, not that much work to do, a huge staff, great protection, simply do not want to do their job and interpret what the great 14th Amendment means.”
The Fourteenth Amendment Section 3 is clear about what disqualifies a person from holding a public office.
Fourteenth Amendment Equal Protection and Other Rights
- Section 3 Disqualification from Holding Office
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
The problem for deranged Democrats like Raskin is Trump did not engage in an insurrection or rebellion against the United States, nor did President Trump give aid or comfort to enemies of the United States. It just didn’t happen. The events of January 6th, 2021 can be accurately described as a large protest at the U.S. Capitol that turned violent for a wide range of reasons. An honest person could conclude there was rioting within the larger crowd, but not all protesters were rioters.
Here’s a list for Jamie Raskin and his ilk of what President Trump did not do on January 6, 2021.
- Trump did not engage in, nor was he a party to, a seditious conspiracy
- Trump did not conspire to riot
- Trump did not organize an uprising
- Trump did not assault any civilians
- Trump did not assault a federal officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon
- Trump did not use a deadly or dangerous weapon to commit a crime
- Trump did not interfere with law enforcement officers during a civil disorder
- Trump did not engage in disorderly conduct in a Capitol building
- Trump did not throw teargas grenades into crowds
- Trump did not obstruct an official proceeding
- Trump did not conspire to obstruct an official proceeding
- Trump did not throw any object, explosive or not, at any person
- Trump did not discharge a firearm
- Trump did not vandalize property
- Trump did not order any person to vandalize property
- Trump did not trespass on any property
- Trump did not assault, resist, interfere, intimidate, oppose, or impede officers
- Trump did not engage in or encourage civil disorder
- Trump did not assault a federal officer or Washington DC police officer
- Trump did not engage in disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building
- Trump did not steal property from a Capitol building
Trump did not aid or abet the commission of any crime committed at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. Democrats like Jamie Raskin and Dan Goldman lust for this truth to not be so, but they cannot change the fact that Donald Trump has never engaged in an insurrection or a rebellion. To this day, the former president Donald J. Trump believes the 2020 election was stolen from him. He just cannot prove it in a court of law, nor to liberal satisfaction. Trump, along with many, but not all, Republicans wanted Congress to reject certain electoral college votes so those states from which those votes came would be forced to further reevaluate and further investigate the election fraud allegations the Trump campaign was making. This is not a crime and Jamie Raskin, Dan Goldman, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and the rest of the Democratic caucus know it.
Hotly contested elections around the world have often ignited civil unrest. They all have something in common. The losing side believes they were cheated out of a win. How the United States avoided a national uprising, if not a civil war, in 2020 is a testament to the civility within the conservative population in America.
If Trump wins the Electoral College votes in 2024 and Raskin or any other Democrat tries to disqualify Trump maliciously, without actual cause, then it will be “necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another”. If a civil war unfolds, Jamie Raskin and anyone who supports his villainous crusade will be to blame.
