Democrats Play on Feelings to Trump Facts

Numbers don’t Lie

The Office for Homeland Security Statistics (OHSS) estimates 10,990,000 unauthorized immigrants resided in the United States in 2022. The resident unauthorized immigrant population is defined as all foreign-born noncitizens who are not legal residents of the United States. Most unauthorized immigrants either entered the United States without inspection or were admitted temporarily and remained past the date they were required to depart.

“Unauthorized immigrants” is the Biden Administration’s kinder, gentler way to say, “illegal immigrants”. An illegal immigrant is a person who is in the United States illegally.  “Illegally” means contrary to law. It is estimated that 1.4 million “gotaways” entered the United States in 2023 and an additional million in 2024. A “gotaway” is a person who “is directly or indirectly observed making an unlawful entry into the United States; is not apprehended; and is not a turn back. It is not unreasonable to suspect that millions of additional people entered the United States undetected. These illegal immigrants are referred to as “unknown gotaways”. Added all together there are likely over 15 million “unauthorized immigrants” in the United States.

Right Men for the Job

President-elect Donald Trump has campaigned for years on securing our borders and deporting people who are in the country illegally. Trump has selected Thomas Douglas Homan to be the White House Border Czar. Homan is a former police officer and Border Patrol agent, investigator, and supervisor. In 2013 President Barack Obama appointed Tom Homan to serve as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Executive Associate Director of Enforcement and Removal Operations. Homan also served during Trump’s first term in office as the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Homan is opposed to sanctuary cities and supports the deportation of people who are in the United States illegally. Both Trump and Homan have publicly stated they intend to locate and deport the worst of the worst illegal immigrants first. Mostly men with criminal backgrounds, both here and in their country of origin, should expect apprehension and fast deportation come 2025. Unemployed, unaccompanied military age men from adversarial countries should be picked up and deported right behind the criminals. Having men of fighting age with unknown intentions from hostile nations in our country is a threat to U.S. national security.

They Hate Trump

Trump has many enemies in the press. Unfortunately, these people do not wish him well. They are not hoping for the best. If Trump wants to do it, they are adamantly opposed to it. Democrats in Congress, with few exceptions, feel the same way about the incoming Trump administration as the liberal press. These people truly hate Donald Trump. They hate him passionately. You should expect all the spiteful vindictiveness the press demonstrated towards Trump during his first administration to be amplified during his second term. Regardless of what he does, liberals will never give Trump credit for positive policy and outcomes. They’ll find someone else to praise for those accomplishments or take credit for them themselves before they ever say Trump did a good job.

Liberal Logic

When it comes to the deportation of people who are in the United States illegally, the Democrats are against it. The liberal desire to have approximately 15 million unvetted people in this country illegally is bewildering. We know that most of these people likely fled terrible places, extreme poverty, and no hope for a better life. Republicans understand this. We need immigration. We love the American story and the American dream too. But part of what has made that dream possible for 248 years is law and order.

The world population is 8.2 billion people. Approximately 44 percent of the global population lives on less than $7 per day. That’s 3.6 billion people living in poverty. The United States cannot possibly allow every impoverished person on the planet to walk across the southern border, or to be flown into the country on redeye flights. The number of immigrants allowed into the country each year must be calculated and controlled. Democrats have never understood budgeting very well and that extends to accounting for who we allow to migrate into the United States each year.

This is exactly the type of logic the liberal press will avoid when they are making President Trump into a coldhearted monster for deporting the tired, poor, huddled masses yearning to breathe free, and who entered the United States illegally, out of the country.

Controlling the Optics

The Trump Administration would be wise to use caution when arresting illegal immigrants. The liberal press will be anxiously awaiting the opportunity to capture galvanizing photos and videos of helpless, screaming women and terrified children being accosted by ICE agents in full tactical gear. Tom Homan will make his job much easier on himself and his agents if he implements a strategy from the start that avoids tactical takedowns involving women and children, even if the women and children are only present and not being apprehended themselves.

We don’t need to give the ladies of The View, CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the liberal press anything to commiserate about with liberal members of Congress who will be all to willing to come on their shows to comment about what they are sure to refer to as the inhumane treatment of poor people of color only seeking a better life for themselves and their families.
